The excitement for a new season of games is not limited only to the spectators but the players, and the women's soccer team is ready and optimistic to start with their best energy.

Last year's challenging finish allowed the soccer team to make a fantastic comeback, and it is undeniable that they have the determination and the talent to make the best out of this season.

 

The program is also counting on new energy, with 9 new players integrating themselves for this new season. 7 talented rookies and 2 players who were transferred from University, but they don't feel like new players because of the chemistry that they have built with the entire team is unbelievable. The team's head coach, Dheeren Govender, shares his point of view on it:

"The chemistry among our student-athletes is absolutely fantastic; they've embraced the team identity wholeheartedly, and their positive energy and enjoyment make this a truly fun and motivating environment."

 

The union that the team has formed is truly admirable, and even if they face challenges during the season, they are planning to take those challenges as opportunities and learn from them to raise their own game.

 

The preseason matches and training camp also helped them most positively, bringing the team even closer, giving them the confidence to accomplish everything they are setting their goals to and time to develop great team strategies. The coach, Govender, believes that it helped them set perfectly for a strong start to the season.

 

It will be for sure an exciting season for this team, and all the work that they have done will show its results. The NAIT Ooks women's soccer team kicks off their season at the Strathcona Athletic Park on Saturday, September 6th at 12:00 PM!
